Theatre Kent’s 2022-23 season finale, You Can’t Take It With You was a resounding success. I would like to thank everyone who was involved in this production, as well as our wonderful audiences who came out to see this fantastic play and support the arts in Chatham-Kent.
It’s been more than two months since we began work on this show, but over three years since I submitted my application to direct. It’s been a long journey with some crazy challenges and hurdles to overcome.
When I finally sat down on opening night and watched the cast perform some of their best work, I could not have been more proud. The hard work everyone put into this show was on full display.
This was only my second directorial credit, and first time without a co-director. The vast amount of things I’ve had to learn and figure out, as well as the monumental amount of decisions I had to make throughout have given me a new perspective on the process, as well as a greater respect for those who makes it through these productions in one piece.
I couldn’t have done it with out the help of everyone involved.
They really pulled together and made this show what it was, and for that I will be eternally grateful.
