We’re thrilled to announce that we will be performing The Perils of Persephone by Canadian playwright Dan Needles. Directed by Keith Burnett, this will surely be an excellent way to finish off the season.

- Evening: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
📍 Location: St. Andrew’s Church, Fellowship Hall
Performance days will be the weekend of April 12, 2025 – in the Fellowship Hall.
About the Play:
The Perils of Persephone is a delightful Canadian comedy by Dan Needles, best known for his witty and heartwarming portrayals of rural life. Perils of Persephone is a story about what happens when city sensibilities clash with country sense. Taking place in the Township of Persephone, the area is threatened when a truck that is possibly carrying toxic waste crashes into a swamp. With a town evacuation imminent, politicians are brought in to fix the situation. Instead they end up creating a cover up, which leads to a cover up of the cover up.
Casting Requirements:
We’re looking for a diverse group of performers to bring this charming tale to life. Roles are available for:
Eldon Currie – Dairy Farmer and Reeve of Persephone Township
Marj Currie – Wife of Eldon
Orval Currie – Eldon’s Brother
Wendy Currie – Eldon and Marj’s daughter – a very young teen, will consider 11 and up
Francis Hinkley – Truck Driver
The Hon. Henry Burford, MPP – The Minister of the Environment
Skip Fuller – Executive Assistant to the Premier

Crew Call:
We’re also seeking enthusiastic individuals for our production crew! Roles include:
- Assistant Producer
- Costumes Coordinator
- Props Manager
- Set Builders and Painters
- Stagehands and more

- No preparation is required; scripts will be provided for cold readings.
